Woburn, MA, January 18, 2007 - Dr. Hua Jiang, Chairman and CEO of Boston Applied Technologies Incorporated (BATi), announced today the formation of iOptron Corporation, a Massachusetts corporation registered on January 17, 2007, as a technological spin-off of BATi. Dr. Jiang will serve as the President and CEO of iOptron until a suitable candidate is selected. The mission of iOptron is to become an industry leader in functional imaging. iOptron will focus on the commercialization of functional imaging products that have been incubated at BATi for five years. With many years of development effort supported by several key government agencies and a group of industry pioneers, iOptron has established a unique position in designing, developing, manufacturing, and marketing a variety of functional imaging products that include 3D optical profiling, polarization imaging, hyperspectral imaging, x-ray imaging, fluorescent imaging and optical histology. iOptron has established a major operation in China under the name of Nanjing iOptron Scientific, Inc. While serving as a manufacturing base for iOptron's imaging products, Nanjing iOptron itself is pioneered and specialized in astro imaging instrumentation, with the GoToNova™ (formerly known as GoToStar™), an intelligent auto tracking telescope system, being its flagship product line. Dr. Jiang stated: "We See It Better™ because our vision is enhanced through microscope to telescope, utilizing polarization and florescence, and from visible to infrared. With dedication and intelligence, we provide our customers with a complete imaging solution of the highest standard." |
