You’ve seen the MiniTower™… Now you’ve got to go Pro

Bigger! No doubt you’ve heard about the MiniTower™. Well, the MiniTower Pro™ has all the same, great technologies and features – just beefed up! So, you can still mount two scopes on -- but now with more pay load. You can still track objects-- only now the encoder resolution is six times finer. We’ve also added a two-inch stainless-steel tripod that is much taller for easier viewing with large scopes. So, go ahead and step up to the Pro!

Extremely Portable With all the standard components (excluding the tripod) packaged in an alloy metal case, the MiniTower Pro™ can easily be carried around in a car trunk or as an airline luggage. The whole system takes only 10 minutes to assemble. This unlimited portability, combined with the internal GPS, gives amateur astronomers extreme flexibility in selecting an observing location.

Accurate GOTO and Tracking Equipped with the most advanced SmartStar® GOTO technology, MiniTower Pro™ is one of the most powerful and accurate GOTO mounts. The standard 8401 hand controller offers the superb navigation experience with an 8 line LCD back-lit display, a 130,000 object database and a USB port for firmware upgrade and computer control. With a typical GOTO accuracy of 1 arc minute and the SmartStar® precision auto-tracking, the MiniTower Pro™ will consistently bring the celestial object of your choice to the center of the eye-piece and keep tracking for hours.

Additional Unique Features Powered with other features such as automatic over-current protection, automatic clutch protection for both axes, easy 3-point level adjustment, dual scope setup with two dovetails, plus, an additional Losmandy saddle. The MiniTower Pro™ is one of the most user-friendly GOTO mounts available today.

4 of 5 Good mount for fast setup and accurate April 29, 2016
Reviewer: Robert Berta from Macomb, MI United States
I needed a new mount for public outreach.  It had to meets several criteriums:
1. Relatively light and compact
2. Able to take a variety of scopes ioncluding 85mm and 110mm apo refractor, 8" HD SCT
3. able to read controller in day and night conditions in cold climates.
4. CAn be polar aligned during day for finding and observing brightest stars during daylight via GOTO.
5. Able to track long periods of time.
7. Good damping of vibration.
The Mini Tower Pro with the 2" legs does all of that so quite impressive. I sometimes use it with two scope mounted Ha and white light solar scopes.

I would have given that last star IF it was easier to go to a specific star in the DB. Now to do that and if you don't have the printed list for the star number you will have to inch through the huge number of stars with a button push for each one in order. Other mounts I own let you hold down a button and it will quickly scroll through them either in order...or you can go by constellation.

5 of 5 The MiniTower Pro is best mount I have ever owned November 9, 2015
Reviewer: Andrew from El Paso, TX United States
I bought a MiniTower Pro to replace my CubePro because I wanted a sturdier tripod, a higher load capacity, and finer encoder resolution while still being easy to set up and portable.
I was a little concerned that the MiniTower Pro was going to be too heavy, but my fears were unfounded. The MiniTower Pro is the CubePro's big brother, so it is larger in all respects, but it is still easy to handle and very fast to set  up. At a star party I can go from the trunk of my car to setup and tracking very-very accurately in just a few minutes, it is so easy that I almost feel guilty about it!
My complete observing/photography setup fits in two boxes, the original MiniTower Pro aluminum box and a second box for my OTA. The tripod is carried separately.
Using a 5mm eyepiece on my William Optics Star71 I can do a goto to an object 180° away in azimuth and the new object will reliably be in my eyepiece. I couldn't ask for better performance.
